We've Got Nothing But Father Time

At GBCA’s Head Start we know that the parents are just as important as the children in our program. The Father Support Group at Head Start is a program dedicated to fathers, or other father-figures, with children in Head Start that allows them to share their experiences as dads in a safe and supportive environment, where they can learn from the moderator, who is also a father and husband, Anthony Wofford, and each other helping them to grow into the best version of themselves. .

The Father’s Luncheon is an annual Head Start event created to thank the fathers, grandfathers, uncles, and other father-figures who participate in the program every day and share themselves with everyone involved. Some of the men are married, single, young, old, and everything in between. Although they come from different cultural backgrounds and upbringings, the dads have one thing in common—they love to spend time with their children and seeing that they are happy. At this year’s luncheon, the fathers received special gifts made by their children and shared their life lessons and how their children have helped them mature as parents and men.
