Head Start's Annual Dental Screening

Dr. Grunstein, DMD visited the Nelson Ave Head Start location on December 5th for his annual dental screenings of the children. Dr. Grunstein, and his trusty assistant Snickers the dog, has been visiting GBCA’s Head Start for 12 years providing free dental screenings to hundreds of children, looking for cavities, tooth decay and other dental issues. “It’s not so rewarding to find kids with infected teeth,” Dr. Grunstein stated. “But being able to see that and fix it, makes it rewarding. When I first started visiting Head Start locations there would be several kids with cavities or infected teeth, but as I continue to visit those numbers decrease.”
